![]() It comes with a 15-ounce jar, a 13-ounce cup with a handle, and a four-ounce container for smaller recipes like dip or salsa. It's also decently easy to use for making dips, spreads, and nut butter-however, the Kitchen Express is still better for that kind of recipe. Like the Magic Bullet Kitchen Express, it doesn't quite match the perfectly smooth blend you get with the 900, but it makes very well-blended puree with stubborn fibrous ingredients. It's less well-built than previous picks, but it's a good affordable option if you're looking for a basic blender. This bullet blender doesn't come with food processing accessories. If you want to spend less, consider the Magic Bullet Blender MBR-1101. However, if you don't need a food processor, you might be disappointed that it only comes with one to-go lid, even though two 15oz jars are included. The blender also comes with various accessories so you can use it as a mini food processor, including a bowl, lid with a chute, and separate blade assembly for chopping and slicing. This helps make it much easier to use for blends like nut butter or hummus. Plus, unlike NutriBullet blenders, it has a dial on its motor base with an option for pulse mode. You may notice a few extra leafy bits in a kale smoothie compared to the NutriBullet Pro 900, but it's not a huge difference. However, it's almost as good at processing fibrous ingredients like kale and fruit skins. This smaller blender doesn't feel quite as sturdy as most NutriBullet blenders. The Magic Bullet Kitchen Express is the best mid-range blender we've tested from either brand. Since most NutriBullet-brand blenders are around the same price or more expensive than the NutriBullet Pro 900, if you want something cheaper, it's a good idea to look at a Magic Bullet. It's much more difficult to use for thick recipes like nut butter, and if you use it for something like a kale smoothie, you might notice a few small grains left over. However, it doesn't perform as well overall. The NutriBullet Pro 1000 has a different blade design, with four blades instead of six, and it's easier to clean by hand. It's decently easy to clean by hand, although you do need to scrub the blade assembly with a sponge. ![]() The jar and lids are dishwasher-safe, but not the blade assembly. However, It's not meant for crushing ice without liquid in its jar, which is normal for NutriBullet and Magic Bullet blenders. It's a great choice for making smaller batches of nut butter or hummus, as it's very easy to use and produces a smooth, spreadable blend. The blender is operated by pushing down on the jar, but you don't need to push on it constantly to blend. It comes with a pair of 32-ounce jars, matching lids, cup rings, and another set of cup rings with handles. This blender makes a virtually perfectly smooth puree with fibrous ingredients like kale or apple skins, so it can make silky smoothies with almost any recipe. Although those other blenders have more powerful motors, the 900 has a better overall performance, so there's little reason to spend more for another model. This blender is usually around the same price or cheaper than similar models like the NutriBullet Pro 1000 and NutriBullet Pro+. The best NutriBullet blender that we've tested is the NutriBullet Pro 900. It's a small detail, but if you want to clean your blender in the dishwasher, you might find it annoying that NutriBullet and Magic Bullet blenders usually have dishwasher-safe jars and lids but come with blade assemblies that have to be hand-washed. Still, it limits the blenders' versatility compared to other personal blenders. It isn't a big deal for smoothies since you can blend ice cubes with other ingredients. With a few exceptions, NutriBullet and Magic Bullet blenders can't crush ice unless there's liquid in the jar. Similar personal blenders from other brands, like the Ninja Fit, require you to push down on the jar constantly to blend, which is a less convenient design. Most personal models are operated by docking the jar on the motor base with the blades attached, then pushing down to pulse or twisting it into place for a longer blend. Their bullet design means you don't need to worry about modes and blending programs. Some models come with to-go lids, meaning you can bring your smoothie on the go. Cup rings are usually included, which are plastic rings that screw onto the jars and make them more pleasant to drink from. Most models come with blending jars that double as cups. You can blend a blueberry smoothie with virtually no unprocessed bits left over. Most NutriBullet and Magic Bullet blenders are fantastic for processing smoothie ingredients like leafy greens and fruits.

The shards are generally awarded as prizes for completing challenges set by the inhabitants of the planet. Spore Hero Arena is all about flying around from one planet to the next, landing on them, interacting with the local species', collecting new parts for the creature creator and completing challenges to collect meteor fragments which allow you to access the boss fight for that planet. I can play a 20-minute match in bed, or while soaking in the bath. The onboarding tutorials are short, snappy, and completing them all allowed me to unlock a champion of my choice. These are concepts that PC players puzzled out on their own, but Wild Rift delivers it all on a platter. It’s also loaded with tutorials, which go over every aspect of the game, from how to choose your target and attack to how to deal with turret aggro and bigger objectives. The skill ceiling may be lower, and so the highs aren’t quite as high as the base game, but the positive side of that is that Wild Rift is much more accessible than League of Legends. I’m not pulling off high-intensity jukes and scraping out kills with fancy keyboard combos … but I do get the satisfaction of landing a powerful laser beam on a bunch of enemies, frying them, or charging into the other team with a perfect rush and stun. I just don’t have the time to invest in 40 minute games, I’m intimidated by the new champions and their learning curve, or I feel a little slow and stiff physically for a game with such a high skill ceiling.īut Wild Rift captures about 90% of what I enjoy about the PC version. I still like League of Legends, at least theoretically. I’ve also logged on less and less over the years. ![]() I saw the evolution of runes, survived release Xin Zhao, and played literally thousands of games. I remember when the lane designations were decided on by players, then formalized by Riot. I’m a long-time League of Legends player on PC, dating back to the game’s earliest days. Wild Rift isn’t just a good fit for new fans, however. On the PC, I’m very used to constantly moving the camera around the map and off my champion on Wild Rift, I stick with my champion and rely on the game’s minimap to see what’s going on elsewhere.Ī breakout camera will also pop up if I use certain abilities that exist outside of my vision range, which gives the game an enjoyable, live-sports-like feeling in the presentation. PC League asks me to constantly click on and manually select my targets, in fact, while Wild Rift focuses more on getting into position, activating my auto attack, and then choosing which targets to prioritize. Wild Rift, on the other hand, is more like a smooth walk to and fro - I’m just shifting my thumb back and forth instead of click-click-clicking my mouse. A good example is movement while playing on PC, I’m constantly clicking back and forth in my lane, like a player shifting weight from foot-to-foot during a really intense game of dodgeball. The meat and potatoes strategies feel roughly the same between the PC League of Legends and the mobile Wild Rift, but certain habits I’ve learned from the PC version are absent. The first thing Wild Rift does right is bypassing one of the most intimidating parts of League on PC by letting you know what your champion does, where they go, and most importantly, why you’re going there via screen prompts and guided arrows. That’s the simple elevator pitch, but adapting a game this intricate to play well on phones isn’t easy. Wild Rift is the same basic game, but redesigned for mobile devices. A jungler floats around, trying to pick up kills where they can on unsuspecting enemies, while mage characters usually try to control the mid lane, and so on. Much like football, different roles take different positions on the field. Then, the two teams fight in a 5v5 matchup, with the ultimate goal being to destroy the enemy base, called the nexus. In the end, no matter how tied something may be to the physical senses, I still can only appreciate things through reading. All of these things are work to somebody, and all of them are play to somebody. Of course this sense of obligation is completely self-imposed. ![]() I also feel obligated to do my reading, so instead of picking up a novel I’m dying to read, say, I think “I really need to spend some time this afternoon reading about color.” I spend time doing research and taking notes, which is “fun” but is also a busman’s holiday. Oddly, it’s a treat that also feels like more work. I love reading about color, taking notes on color, looking at color. However, despite my fascination with the subject of color-or perhaps because of it-I haven’t been able to choose a signature color (though I think if I did, it would be purple). On our podcast Happier, in episode 71, Elizabeth and I suggested the try-this-at-home of “ Choose a signature color,” which sparked so much response that in episode 75, we did a deep dive into color. Now, why am I so intrigued with the subject of color? No idea. A new part of the world lights up for me, a previously ignored section of my beloved library becomes familiar, I have a new way to connect with people, and my bookshelves start to fill up (which is a mixed blessing). It’s a wonderful, mysterious feeling to become wildly interested in something new. Sometimes the subject is a big, obvious subject, like the subject of habits in Better Than Before, or sometimes it’s more obscure, like my long obsession with the question “Why do people destroy their own possessions?” which became the book Profane Waste. Sometimes it stays a private obsession-like my obsession with beautiful scents. Sometimes, this obsession leads to a book-like The Happiness Project or Forty Ways to Look at Winston Churchill. And nothing makes me happier than a new obsession! It’s energizing and exciting. Periodically, I get obsessed with subjects. ![]() Transmission OverheatingĪnother sign that your transmission is completely out of fluid is when it overheats. ![]() If your fluid has completely run out, your transmission will eventually stop working completely. Transmission slipping is when, after the shift change, the transmission slips back out of the gear. When your transmission fluid is running low, you can experience a delay or hesitation when shifting to drive or reverse because the fluid pressure simply isn't strong enough. Shaking while changing gears is a clear indication that your fluid either needs changing or is running low. Because this could mean that some damage has already taken place, be sure to get your car in to a mechanic for transmission repair. If you're hearing grinding noises coming from the transmission, it could be that, because of the low fluid levels, the friction on the bands and clutches inside your transmission are exhibiting excessive wear.
